Description
Belize has received financing from the Inter-American Development Bank for the IDB CLIMA: Strengthening Marine Ecosystem Resilience by Enhancing Wastewater Infrastructure in Caye Caulker project. The operation is BL-L1051. This Request for Information seeks to conduct market research ahead of the planned procurement and does not constitute prequalification or provide any advantage in the future bidding process.
Belize Water Services Limited invites interested companies and consortia to provide information on their capabilities and experience for the design, supply, installation, commissioning and training of a wastewater treatment system in Caye Caulker. The scope includes a vacuum sewer network and Membrane Aerated Biofilm Reactor (MABR) treatment plant, associated stations, control and monitoring systems, civil works and staff training.
The future procurement is expected to comprise two packages: one for goods with three lots and one for works with two lots. Multiple lots may be awarded to the same bidder subject to adequate technical, financial and implementation capacity. The indicative implementation period is approximately 48 months.
Interested firms are requested to provide information on relevant experience, financial and technical capacity, key personnel, local participation and subcontracting, ESHS experience and supply-chain risk mitigation. The future procurement is expected to use International Competitive Bidding and be open to companies and consortia from IDB member countries.
A virtual meeting will be held on October 7, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. Belize time to present the project in greater detail and provide an opportunity for questions and answers.
