Descrição
The Municipality of Montevideo, through its Sanitation Executing Unit, has launched an International Public Bidding process with financing from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), under Loan Agreement 5410/OC-UR. The objective is to contract works for the implementation of Urban Sustainable Drainage Systems (SUDS), as part of the sixth stage of the Montevideo Sanitation Program.
The project aims to promote an innovative and sustainable approach to urban water management through infrastructure designed to capture, infiltrate, and control stormwater runoff, replicating the natural behavior of the hydrological cycle. The works include the construction of 65 rain gardens, a bioretention system, permeable pavement, and a flow attenuation structure in a stream, along with complementary works.
Given the geographical distribution of the interventions, the works will be carried out simultaneously across multiple sites, organized in phases with mobile construction units. The selected contractor must submit specific execution protocols for each site to ensure efficient and well-coordinated implementation. The contract duration is 12 months and is open to eligible firms and consortia from IDB member countries. The bidding documents are available on the official website of the Municipality.
