Description
The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) is seeking to hire a consulting firm to prepare the final engineering designs of electrical networks and distribution lines in Guatemala. This project is essential for the expansion of energy infrastructure in rural communities in the departments of Izabal and Petén, ensuring the technical feasibility necessary for the construction phase.
1. Territorial scope and beneficiaries
The consultancy will focus on electrical design for communities located in the following municipalities:
Izabal: Livingston and Morales.
Petén: San Luis.
INDE, through its Rural Electrification and Works Management (GERO), will provide the georeferenced location and the estimated number of users for the firm to initiate the relevant field surveys.
2. Technical stages of the service
The design process will be executed under a progressive validation scheme:
Pre-design inspection: Initial survey (10 working days) to georeference the distributor's intake points and the boundaries of each community, determining the total kilometers of network required.
Detailed engineering: After the approval of the pre-design, the final designs will be carried out, which must include plans, calculation reports and budgets, guaranteeing their technical feasibility without additional costs for corrections.
3. Regulations and technical standards
All designs must strictly comply with the Guatemalan and international regulatory framework:
CNEE: Technical standards for design, operation and distribution service (NTDOID and NTSD).
International: National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) standards.
Premises: Current construction regulations and regulations of the regional electricity distributor.
Note: Interested companies should review the international data management and logistics analysis experience requirements on the BEO Bidder Portal.
