Description
The Inter-American Development Bank invites consulting firms to submit their Expression of Interest to conduct an economic analysis to support the development of Brazil's National Strategy for Critical and Strategic Minerals (ENMCE), evaluating opportunities for investment, competitiveness and development of mineral value chains.
1. Economic diagnosis and characterization of minerals
Analyze the production, trade, investment, and markets of strategic minerals, including aluminum, silicon, gold, zinc, chromium, iron, magnesium, molybdenum, tungsten, and sulfur.
2. Impact assessment and economic viability
Compare implementation and inaction scenarios, quantifying impacts on employment, investment, and tax collection. Evaluate costs and viability of mineral processing projects.
3. Productive capacities and international markets
Identify national suppliers, infrastructure, and technical capabilities, as well as strategic international companies and buyers to strengthen trade integration.
4. Strategic recommendations
Develop criteria for prioritizing minerals, evaluate public policy instruments, and propose measures to boost investments, competitiveness, and contributions to Brazil's climate goals.
Interested companies should carefully review the registration requirements on the relevant IDB portal and ensure that all requested information is completed before submitting their Statement of Interest (EOI).
