Sociedad Agrícola y Servicios Isla de Pascua SpA, known as SASIPA, has received financing from the Inter-American Development Bank for the Program for the Sustainability of Water and Electricity Services in Rapa Nui. A portion of these funds will be allocated to the infrastructure projects described below.
Project Scope
The works follow a lump sum turnkey modality and include the design, construction, monitoring, and maintenance of a photovoltaic plant equipped with a Battery Energy Storage System in Mataveri, Easter Island. This project also requires the hybrid integration of the new plant with existing thermal generation systems.
Project Timeline
The estimated total term for the project is 1,076 calendar days. This period comprises 346 days for design and construction, followed by a 60-day trial period or "white march," and concludes with 670 days dedicated to operation and maintenance.
Bidding Process
SASIPA invites eligible bidders to submit sealed bids through an International Public Bidding process. This call is governed by the current edition of the IDB Policies for the Acquisition of Goods and Works and is open to bidders from eligible countries that are not sanctioned by the Bank.
Main Qualification Requirements
To qualify, interested parties must demonstrate the following:
Financial Capacity: An average annual turnover of at least USD 7,000,000 and liquid assets of at least USD 2,000,000 over the last seven years, supported by IFRS audited statements.
Technical Experience: Proven success in the design and construction of photovoltaic plants and hybrid Solar-BESS systems that operate simultaneously with thermal systems.
Operational Background: Specific experience in the operation and maintenance of power generation plants.
Legal Compliance: Complete legal documentation, including incorporation papers, powers of attorney, and an APCA agreement where applicable.
