Description
The consulting services include capacity development of Business Support Organization's (BSO) to promote local cluster growth in seven countries. The consultant will provide knowledge and necessary skills through a series of workshops the BSO will participate in, led by experts and applying methodologies to support cluster growth. Specifically, upon completing the workshops, the BSO will be able to:
- Identify, frame, and prioritize local clusters using market-driven criteria.
- Apply acquired knowledge and skills to promote cluster initiatives directed towards the private sector, and two specific cluster development plans.
- Support clusters in improving processes and connections in value chains to increase income and reduce costs in a competitive, inclusive, and sustainable manner.
- Include gender considerations in cluster development and offer support to women-led companies.
- Promote innovation through formal associations with local institutions (government and educational). technology adoption, and data collection, analysis, and promotion.
- Identify unsatisfied needs of interested parties in the cluster that the BSO can satisfy to generate income or shared services in a financially sustainable manner.
