Description
The Dominican Republic, through the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources and the Executing Unit of the Program, has financing from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID) for the "Program for Integrated and Sustainable Management of Solid Waste in Greater Santo Domingo". This call invites interested companies to participate in the prequalification process for the execution of far-reaching environmental sanitation works.
Scope of works and infrastructures
The comprehensive project requires qualified contractors to take on the design, construction, and subsequent operation of the following components:
Technical closure: Environmental closure of 75 hectares of the current landfill, including systems for the use of biogas and the comprehensive rehabilitation of access roads.
Recovery plant: Design, construction and operation of a plant dedicated to the classification and recovery of solid waste, which must include a composting area.
Auxiliary cell: Development and management of a backup cell for the reception and temporary disposal of regulated solid waste.
Power plant: Design, construction and operation of a specific biogas plant.
Social infrastructure: Design, construction and operation of an educational amphitheater aimed at environmental awareness.
Process requirements and conditions
International guidelines: The prequalification process will be strictly governed by the Policies for the Acquisition of Works and Goods financed by the IDB, opening participation to all bidders from eligible countries of origin.
Access to documents: Interested parties may request the full set of prequalification documents in Spanish by means of a formal written request. The rules of the process will be sent digitally through email.
Submission modality: Formal applications must be submitted in a sealed and inviolable envelope, duly marked with the full name of the works, at the offices of the Vice Ministry of Environmental Management in Santo Domingo. Likewise, the institution authorizes that the application files can be sent digitally to the institutional email addresses enabled for the process.
