Description
The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) is seeking a consulting firm to adapt and deploy an AI-supported mathematics tutoring platform for a Proof of Concept (PoC) in Honduras. The project follows the Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) model, focusing on assessing the technical and operational feasibility of a hybrid, teacher-guided framework to improve learning outcomes in mathematics.
1. Platform Configuration and Local Adaptation
- Curricular Alignment: Configuring the platform to match the Honduran mathematics curriculum and TaRL instructional logic, focusing on adaptive student practice and interactive feedback.
- MVP Deployment: Delivering a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) optimized for classroom devices and the specific connectivity conditions found in Honduran schools.
- Usability: Ensuring high accessibility standards for students and teachers within the defined hybrid classroom environment.
2. Instructional and Monitoring Tools
The platform must serve as a data-driven support system for educators and evaluators:
- Teacher Dashboard: Providing monitoring tools that enable teachers to oversee student progress and make real-time instructional decisions.
- Data Architecture: Capturing structured usage and learning data aligned with project monitoring indicators.
- Interoperability: Enabling the secure and reliable export of evaluation-ready datasets (e.g., CSV format) to support independent impact analysis.
3. Implementation Support and Evaluation
The consultancy focuses on the operational performance and scalability of the solution:
- Technical Onboarding: Providing training and ongoing support to school staff during the PoC phase.
- Iterative Adjustments: Monitoring platform performance in real-time and implementing necessary technical tweaks based on implementation feedback.
- Lessons Learned: Documenting technical challenges and successes to inform the Ministry of Education's future decision-making regarding large-scale digital tutoring deployments.
