Description
The Republic of El Salvador, through the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MINEDUCYT), has received funding from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) for the project Improving Educational Quality and Coverage: Born, Grow, Learn. This tender aims to equip Early Childhood Care Centers (CAPI) and baby libraries with high-quality pedagogical and recreational resources. The initiative seeks to transform early learning environments, ensuring that Salvadoran children have the necessary tools for their cognitive, emotional, and physical development from their earliest years of life.
Scope of supply
The supply is part of the Education sector and includes the following requirements:
Teaching material: Provision of pedagogical resources designed to stimulate active learning in early childhood.
Recreational equipment: Supply of furniture and play elements that encourage exploration and the development of motor skills.
Institutional strengthening: Specific equipment for the CAPI and baby library modalities at the national level.
Technical documentation: Delivery of catalogues or brochures in Spanish that demonstrate that the goods comply with the technical specifications required by the Ministry.
Qualification Requirements
The tender will be conducted through the National Public Bidding (LPN) procedure, in accordance with IDB policies (GN-2349-15):
Financial capacity: Present audited Balance Sheet and Income Statement for the year 2024, with a solvency ratio (Current Assets / Current Liabilities) greater than 1.00.
Technical experience: Prove contracts or purchase orders of the last 5 years for the same or similar supplies, whose accumulated amount is equal to or greater than that of the bid submitted.
References: Submit two satisfactory references (rated "Very Good" to "Excellent") for previous supplies of similar goods.
Warranty: All bids must include a Bid Maintenance Statement.
Opening Process: Physical proposals must be submitted to Building A-1 of the Government Center in San Salvador. No margin of preference will be applied to national contractors.
