Description
The Republic of Ecuador, through the Secretariat of Risk Management and the Geophysical Institute of the National Polytechnic School (IG-EPN), has financing from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) for the program to Strengthen the National Early Warning System for Multiple Hazards.
This international tender seeks to modernize the national seismic monitoring network. The integration of these advanced sensors and robust communication systems is vital to ensure a quick and accurate response to seismic events, protecting the population throughout the Ecuadorian territory.
Scope of supply
The acquisition focuses on high-precision monitoring technology:
• Seismic equipment: Broadband stations equipped with state-of-the-art sensors.
• Accelerographs: Specialized equipment to record seismic movements of great magnitude.
• Radio modems: Dispersed spectrum digital devices for data transmission from remote areas.
• Standards: New equipment (manufactured from 2025) with ISO, CE or IEC international certifications.
Qualification Requirements
The process is carried out through International Public Bidding (IPL) under the following conditions:
• Financial capacity: Solidity demonstrated with a Solvency Index $\ge$ 0.90 and a Debt Ratio • Specific experience: Have successfully executed at least three (3) similar contracts in the last five years, totaling a minimum value of USD 513,330.00.
• Technical warranty: The manufacturer must ensure the supply of spare parts for a minimum period of 5 years.
• Production capacity: Manufacturers must prove an annual capacity of at least twice the units ordered.
• Delivery: Bids must be submitted physically at the IG-EPN offices in Quito.
Note: The specifications and terms of reference are available in the official language of the country.
