Description
Jamaica has received financing from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) to partially finance the Support for the Health Systems Strengthening for the Prevention and Care Management of Non-Communicable Diseases Programme. The Ministry of Health is inviting eligible bidders to submit sealed bids for the supply of new medical equipment for the Spanish Town Hospital (STH). This procurement is divided into two lots to specifically upgrade the Surgical and Radiology departments, enhancing the hospital's capacity to provide specialized care.
Scope of Supply
The procurement is categorized under the Health sector and includes:
- Lot 1: Surgical Department Equipment: Specialized medical tools and machines for surgical procedures and the Accident & Emergency (A&E) unit.
- Lot 2: Radiology Department Equipment: Advanced diagnostic and imaging hardware.
- Target Facility: All equipment is destined for the Spanish Town Hospital (STH) to support Radiology, A&E, and Ophthalmology (Opt) services.
- Bidding and Qualification Requirements
The process is being conducted through International Competitive Bidding (ICB) in accordance with IDB Procurement Policies. Key requirements for interested bidders include:
- Eligibility: The tender is open to all bidders from eligible countries as defined in the bidding documents.
- Proven Experience: Bidders must demonstrate the successful completion of at least two (2) similar contracts within the last five (5) years (dating back to 2017), each with a minimum value of Five Hundred Thousand Jamaican Dollars.
- Bid Security: All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security in the amount of USD $99,700.00.
- National Preference: A Margin of Preference for national contractors or joint ventures will be granted.
